clothes in the bathtub.
I have often been called by the name, Laundry Queen. Washing clothes is something I take very seriously. But before you roll your eyes or cast judgment, let me explain. I was brought up that you take good care of your things. So when it comes to clothes, I take great care in the way I wash them. And I have to be honest. . . I’m really good at it. I have remedies and methods to get stains out that others might deem impossible. I hang everything to dry, I use Clorox when needed, and soak things that need a little extra love and life to be brought back into them. My kids even named me Laundry Queen on the game Roblox. Ha!
So when an error message appeared on my washing machine and water would not drain, I went into panic mode.
It has been over a week that I had not had a washing machine!! Apparently there was a part somewhere in another country that had to make its way across the ocean into our care! So our laundry has got to the point of almost overflowing out the front door of our house. But there were things that had to be clean. So I pivoted and turned our bathtub into our washing machine. I will admit, there were tears as I was scrubbing out stains in clothes in the bathtub. Mostly because I didn’t have time to be the washing machine. (And I felt sorry for myself)
But I have good news to report! Our washing machine is fixed and I will never complain again about having to do laundry. It has now become a great joy!
This whole saga got me thinking how I take things and even people for granted sometimes. You don’t realize how much you appreciate something or someone until you don’t have it or them. So my questions for you today are short and sweet. What is something or someone that you have taken for granted? What is something you need to gain a new perspective on?
I’ve taken for granted the air I breathe. . . it’s just always there. I’ve taken for granted that I “get” to clean my house because I’m in good healthy. My list could go on.
It’s normally the simple things that we so often take for granted.
As for me, I am going to do another load of laundry in my washing machine with great joy and appreciation, thanking the Lord for the simple things!
