love loud

I recently heard a mom say that at her son’s most recent parent/teacher conference, she was told that LOVE is her son’s superpower. She was filled with such joy and pride. . . And then she heard, “He just loves. . . . loud!”

What a statement to hear about one’s child! It made me start wondering what loving loud even looks like?

My youngest daughter is passionate about telling others about Jesus. In fact, she even led one precious girl to Jesus in the bathroom one day! But, sometimes her delivery isn’t the kindest. We are trying to teach her how to share about Jesus in a loving way. I can picture it now. . . she pulls someone aside at recess and asks, “Do you know Jesus? Do you love Him? Do you want to go to hell?” I DO NOT recommend this approach. But that is why as parents we have these teaching moments.

Can we love loudly without even saying a word? And if so, what does this practically look like?
Google will tell us that loving someone out loud means speaking from the heart, expressing your feelings openly and authentically, and letting your actions reflect the depth of our affection.
But we know that actions are more powerful than words and if they reflect the depth of our affection toward Jesus, then as believers we should all be loving loudly.
Zephaniah 3:17 tells us that, "The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing".
So if the Lord quiets us with His love and rejoices over us with loud singing, what does that mean? I believe that sometimes we are too loud with our words and too quick to speak. It’s when we allow God to shine and give Him the opportunity to lead is when His love is heard the loudest. Centerstage should not be our goal. We are just the stagehand, helping God reach people with His love through our actions, speech, and prayer.

Psalm 89:1, I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever!
Young and old will hear of your faithfulness.
My prayer is that young and old will HEAR of God’s faithfulness for generations to come! Maybe that’s with words or with no words spoken at all.
