praying through your steps.
For my birthday this year, I received a new Apple watch! This one is larger than my last one, which is helpful. I apparently have eyes that are maturing each and every day. Can anyone else relate? One feature that I think is interesting is that this magical watch can count my steps. I often wonder if I sit still but move my arms back and forth, would my watch add this to the final number?
We all have steps we take each and every day. Some steps we take are in confidence, excitement, some are in fear, worry, doubt, anxiousness, or even dread. Steps can be purposeful or sometimes a reaction to where we are headed and need to go.
I recently went to a local coffee shop here in Jenks (shout out to Mojo’s) and planned to grab a coffee, put my head down, and knock out a ton of stuff I needed to get done on my computer. As I walked in and took a seat, I was ready to get started. Until I realized that I had left my computer at home! I was so upset, even a little angry, that I would do that. I would now have to drive home and get my computer, which was time that I had not scheduled into my day. As I began packing up my stuff, I asked God if there was a reason I was there, was there something else I was to be working on or doing. About that time I heard, “are you with The Pearl House?” As I looked up there was a lady sitting around the corner from me with the biggest smile. We had the BEST conversation, which I believe was led by the Lord. For time's sake, I won’t go into the details of our conversation, but I do believe I was supposed to run into her.
Stories like these increase our faith. I might not have been as aware of God moving and being in my steps. As I drove back home to get my computer, I found myself continuing my conversation with the Lord. I asked Him to continue to order my steps, to guide and direct me, my conversations, and that my eyes would be open to those around me.
So, today, make every step count and walk with purpose. Ask God to help you be aware. As we read in Psalm 139, we know that God goes before us, He is with us, and He hems us in. We cannot escape from His presence. Hallelujah! God already knows the number of your steps today and may you reach the number set before you. May you seek Him as He leads you in the direction to go.
