release your inner Jesus.

I love it when it’s sunny outside! But you know those days where it’s super sunny and bright, and the sun is positioned in such a way that it’s difficult to see?

I don’t like it on those days. The days when I’m driving and my sunglasses, car visor, and even my hand over my eyebrows trying to block the sun—nothing helps.

Recently, one of my daughters and I ran into Staples. She needed a new planner. I love a great planner! They bring me so much joy! And don’t get me started about putting my calendar on my phone. I like the good stuff—paper. Just as God intended. After we found her perfect planner, we checked out and started walking to our car. The sun had positioned itself perfectly making it very difficult to see. I quickly put my sunglasses on, but my daughter didn’t have hers with her. So she grabbed my arm, closed her eyes and told me to lead her to the car. So I did just that. I told her when to take a step to the left, when to take a step up, how close we were to arriving to the car, and to be sure to pick her feet up. I gave her all the instructions that I thought she would need to safely get herself to our car. But I apparently did not do a very great job. The pavement was very uneven, causing her to stumble quite a few times. At one point she says to me, “Release your inner Jesus! And lead me well!“ I couldn’t help giggle and marvel at that comment. Release your inner Jesus.

If you’re a believer and you have the Holy Spirit inside you, then every part of your life should be an overflow of His love pouring out onto others. If we’re spending time with God every day and consulting with Him daily, then it will be difficult to contain Him. But for a lot of us, we need to be reminded to “release our inner Jesus.”

So what does this look like on the daily? I believe that it can be lived out by showing the fruits of the spirit. The way we treat one another, how much patience we have with one another, our self control, our peace, and the list goes on. My prayer for you is that you will allow Jesus to lead you, to guide you, to order your steps as you trust Him with every aspect of your life. My daughter had full trust in me that I would lead her to the car well, and I’m only human. So how much more trust should we have in our Lord and Savior.
