the voice.
If you have ever watched the show, The Voice, you know and understand how the show works. The judges are turned around in their chairs not being able to see who is singing. They listen to the voice without any distractions or being biased by what their eyes show and tell them. If they like the voice they hear, they turn their chair around, click the red button, which indicates they want you! At that point, if more than one red button is clicked, the contestant then decides who they would like to lead them in their journey on the show.
What a great example of how we should live our lives! I believe the Lord wants us to listen to His voice, not being distracted by what our eyes show and tell us, and not being swayed by anything or anyone else. When we begin to tune out the “noise” of this world, we then can focus more on His voice and it becomes more recognizable.
Many of you know I have daughters. I personally pray for them everyday. I pray many things for them but one consistent thing I ask is that they will begin to recognize God’s voice. That His voice will become clearer and louder than all the other voices trying to speak to them.
My prayer for you today is the same. I pray that your eyes will not sway you by what you see, that you will be able to remove distractions, and be able to listen and focus on what God might be speaking to you. Most of the time it’s when we slow down, sit and listen intently, that He speaks the loudest to us.
I also know this truth . . .He wants you! He wants ALL of you. Just as you are. He sees you and says that you are His masterpiece. He wants your heart. . . He wants your life that He originally created. You might have other voices telling you that they “want you” but God is the only consistent voice I have come to know. May you hear Him today.
And just like Samuel said in 1 Samuel 3:10, may we have the same response, “Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.”
