a fathers’ love.
Last night my husband and I had the opportunity to see MJ the Musical. The music was spectacular and I found myself singing along with most of the songs. (even though it was not a group participating event) Michael Jackson was known as the King of Pop and I learned a lot about him. He had a life of struggle, running from things from his past that ultimately circled back to an abusive father that Michael was always trying to please. All Michael wanted was love from his father and he tried and tried again to receive love from him. He did whatever he could to be seen by his father. But time and time again, he was left with disappointment which would send him running and trying to find love and acceptance in other things and people.
The love of a father. It is something that deep down we all need, desire, and want. We all crave to be seen, to be accepted, and to hear our father say that he is proud of us. For some, you have had or have this in your life and it is a gift. For others, it is something you have never had or you might find yourself a lot like Michael Jackson, longing for acceptance and love from your father.
I have good news for ALL of us. There is a FATHER that loves you unconditionally. He is So very proud of you because you are His daughter and/or son. He sees you through loving eyes and He welcomes you with open arms. How “good” you are or how “successful” you are does not determine the amount of love He has to give you.
It is easy to associate our earthly father with our heavenly father and think the two are the same. But, remember one is only human and the other created you, sees you, hears you always, is with you always, and is always proud of you no matter what!
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1
