i love shoes.
It’s no secret that I love shoes! I think most women do. The older I get, the duo of cute and comfortable are a must in purchasing shoes. And when you can find this perfect combo, it’s a glorious and emotional experience!
We take a lot of steps each and every day. The average person takes roughly 7,500 steps per day. Which means most of us are disappointing our Apple watches! So, by the time you are 80 years old, you have taken approximately 216,262,500 steps. Wow! This is equivalent to walking around the Earth five times! And as women, a lot of times we are wearing heels or uncomfortable (but cute) shoes. No wonder our feet hurt a lot!
With all of this in mind, how are you taking your steps? Are you using them for good, on purpose with intentionality? Proverbs 16:9 says that, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” What a relief to know that God cares about my steps!
In Genesis 5:22 it tells us that Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years! Walked faithfully. I want to be described as someone who did this. And since I don’t plan on living to 300, it SHOULD be easier for me than Enoch. Often, I find myself more running (out of breath) toward Jesus because my steps each day have led me further away from where I would like to be from Him.
Ask God the direction your steps should go today. Ask Him if you need to pause and be aware so that you don’t walk right past something He has for you. If I only have so many steps in this life, I know I want to make each step be on purpose, making an impact for Jesus.
