blank screen
Have you ever thought it would be nice to start fresh? To have a blank screen in front of you, nothing from your past (or present) holding you back or determining the direction forward? Recently, my husband and I went to a movie. We don’t get to do that often together, but when we do, it truly is a treat! We got to our seats early, and as we sat waiting for the previews to begin, we looked at a blank screen for quite a while. It got me thinking about how so many times we wish we had a blank screen.
When my girls were toddlers, if they acted or said something that was not okay, then I would ask them if they would like a do-over. This gave them an opportunity to try again and possibly not get the discipline that would be fitting to their first response. Confession: I can sometimes be quick to react and it was always challenging to pause and let them start over. But by doing this, it showed them forgiveness and grace.
God does this for us over, and over, and over again. I am so thankful and grateful! He says we are a new creation, the old is gone and the new is here. He wipes our screen clean.
If you are wrestling with choices you made in the past, the difficult season you are in now, thoughts that come to your mind that you know are not right, words that come out of your mouth that are harmful to others. . . (You fill in the blank) know that God can always give you a “blank screen”. That you can start new with Him. You might need to go ask forgiveness from others, but once you ask God, He says your past is as far as the east is from the west. His mercies are new EVERY morning!
So, talk to God. He is always with you. I encourage you to take your “blank screen” and ask God what He has for you today. And move forward with the path He has planned for you!
