far from perfect

I think it’s important that you and I are honest with one another.  So, I will start. . . I am not perfect and I don’t pretend to be either. If you think that I think I am perfect, then you and I need to get to know one another better.

No one has it all together. I don’t care what the social media post says or portrays. We are human. We are imperfect. We were not created to be perfect. We were created to be needy, to be desperate, to be dependent. That doesn’t sound like an empowered woman, does it? But when we understand and grasp and accept this way of thinking, that is when we are truly empowered, strong, bold, courageous, and confident. When we realize we were created to be needy for Jesus, desperate for Jesus, and dependent upon Jesus, . . that, my friend, is where true empowerment is found!

My mission is to be authentic and real. I have imperfections just like all of us, that’s why we need Jesus and His grace. Let’s make our time together encouraging to one another as we all try to look more and more like Him.

So, today, where are you finding your strength? I am reminded of Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 12:10 that tells us when we are weak, He is strong.  This strength comes when we trust not in ourselves but we trust in God, seeking Him for help. Is there something that you need to release control, give over, lay down, in order to be strong?
