stay hydrated.

At The Pearl House office we are blessed to have a water machine where our staff, including myself, fill up our Simple Modern water bottles often to stay hydrated. I rarely see anyone not walking around with one. For me, I know I drink more water during the day when I carry it with me wherever I go. Some might say that it’s my emotional support water bottle and I might agree with them. I do feel better emotionally when I am staying hydrated!

The other day, I took the 5 gallon water jug to refill it. As I was standing there waiting for the water to reach the top, I began thinking how fortunate I am to have access to clean water anytime I need it. Water. It seems like a simple thing that we don’t even think about. Almost like the air we breathe. You don’t think about it unless you have a hard time receiving it.

In John 4:14, it says, “"But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life"
Practically all living things depend on water for life. But Jesus tells us that He is the living water, offering us eternal life.
As we enter into the Christmas season, let’s pray for those that don’t have easy access to clean water, something that I often take for granted. And then let’s pray together for those that do not know about the living water. I can’t think of a greater time of year to tell someone the real reason why we celebrate Christmas. For me, I know that when I drink my water today, I will be thanking God that I know Him and that I will never thirst again.
